Cheddar Methodist Church

WHO WE ARE

We are a welcoming church community in the middle of the beautiful village of Cheddar with its

magnificent Cheddar Gorge - an area of outstanding natural beauty.

 

Our regular Sunday morning worship is held at 10.30 am led by preachers and ministers from 

our Somerset Mendip Circuit with a variety of styles of service. 

 

We run seasonal Bible study groups, particularly around Advent and Lent. 

We have a Sunday morning congregation of around 30 people of varying ages.

U3A Solos (Monthly)

Alcoholics Anonymous

 

Tuesday 

Youth Club. 6.30 – 8.30 pm

U3A Singing Group - 2.15 - 4pm (1st and 3rd Tuesday)

 

Wednesday

The church is open for prayer and meditation each Wednesday morning

Gateway Club (every other week 7pm) – Ages from 18-90 - disability group MENCAP

Knitting Group every Wednesday From 10am (summer in church and winter in hall)

Friendship Group (3rd Wednesday of month) 2.30pm friendship and speakers and activities

 

Prayer meeting (1st Wednesday of each month) following the knitting group

 

 Midweek Community Lunch 12.30pm as arranged

 

Friday

U3A Tai Chi 10.15-11am plus cup of teas to follow

 

Dance Group (Ballroom) 2pm

 

Strike-a-Chord male- voice choir 7.30pm

 

Saturday

 Lite-Bites (1st Saturday each month) from 10am (lunch at 12) - fundraising meals

Hands of Change (3rd Saturday each month) ‘pop up cafe’ - food bank and clothes exchange
