A very warm welcome to the Somerset Mendip Methodist Circuit. We are so glad you are with us. We are made up of 14 churches and 3 classes / fellowship meetings stretching from Rode to Banwell, Norton Down to Wincanton. You will find a warm and inviting welcome in each. We have three ministers, including myself, three lay pastoral and community outreach workers, two administrative staff, as well as a dedicated team of circuit stewards and other lay volunteers. Please feel free to contact any of them through this website.
We are a friendly open circuit who believe in God’s justice, love and hope and seek to live it in the world.

My Story
My name is Rev Andrew Prout. I have been a Minister in the Methodist Church since 1997 and was appointed Superintendent Minister of the Somerset Mendip Methodist Circuit in 2025. My first appointment was in Launceston where I looked after seven small rural chapels in a rural context. My second was in Bristol where I looked after two suburban Churches in Hanham and Oldland Common. My previous appointment was in St. Albans where I was responsible for one of the town Churches and two village Churches. I am delighted to be in the Somerset Mendip Circuit my great grandmother having been born in Frome in 1871. I fully support the principle of the Methodist Church endeavouring to be a growing, inclusive, justice seeking, and evangelistic body of believers. I would be delighted for you to make contact and direct to any one of our Churches and Fellowship Meetings.
