CIRCUIT SONGBOOK

Since early 2020, Somerset Mendip has been building a body of recorded hymns and songs to assist in Zoom services, digital worship, and live services where no musician is available. Please feel free to use these musical resources in your own worship.

Most songs and hymns have been recorded in line with SMC's CCLI and PRS licenses. If you plan to use this music in worship, please make sure you have the correct licensing for your own church or group. We would ask that you give credit to Somerset Mendip Methodist Circuit as well as the original artist or writer if these resources are used in worship elsewhere. Details of copyright information for each song can be found in the notes of each Youtube video. Indicated song numbers are from our Methodist Hymnbook 'Singing the Faith' unless otherwise indicated

Light of the world (Here I am to worship)
Listening God you hear us
Long ago prophets knew
Longing for Light (Christ be our light)
Lord Jesus Christ (Living Lord)
Shine Jesus Shine
Morning has broken
Love Divine (Blaenwern)
O Lord my God (How great thou art)
Lord of all hopefulness
Lord for the years
May the mind of Christ my Saviour
O love that wilt not let me go (St Margaret)
Meekness and Majesty
O Jesus I Have Promised (Hatherop Castle)
O God our help in ages past
Lord, your church on earth is seeking (Abbot's Leigh)
O Come all ye Faithful

SYLVIA HUGGETT COLLECTION

Sylvia Huggett is known as a local preacher and notable lyric writer in Somerton, Somerset, and many local churches will have sung some of the hymns she has written over the years. Now, they have been gathered together in one place and are available for free use in our churches.

Sylvia has, very generously, waived copyright so they can be reproduced without no restriction, and has graciously allowed users to modify any of the words if they feel the need to do so.

Most of the hymns use well-known tunes that will be familiar to musicians and congregations alike. Many can be found in digital resources as instrumental versions. Additionally, there are a few poems at the end, not set to music, but equally useful for private reading or as a worship resource.
